OUR COMMUNITIES

Hometown Needs

Young children play tug of war outside.

At 3M, we invest in communities to help them thrive. From safe housing and food security to youth development programs and diverse arts opportunities, these building blocks are the foundation of vibrant and equitable communities.

As hometown needs vary greatly from place to place, we partner with local organizations that know the needs of their communities best. Along with the focus on our headquarters location of St. Paul, MN, we work with over 70 communities across the U.S. Click here to see where we support hometown needs.

Partner Highlights

3M looks to tackle challenges both nationally and locally, leveraging organizations that help maximize our impact.

Feeding America

Access to nutritious food plays a vital role in supporting educational outcomes. We partner with Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, to address food insecurity in 3M communities across the U.S. By leveraging Feeding America’s network of over 200 food banks across the country, 3M’s support advances Feeding America’s mission to ensure equitable access to nutritious food for all.

Kids In Need Foundation

For over 25 years, 3M has partnered with Saint Paul Public Schools to ensure that students have the tools needed to succeed in the classroom. By leveraging 3M cash and product investments, the 3M Stuff for Schools program has provided school supplies to more than 300,000 Saint Paul Public School students. Today, our partnership with Kids in Need Foundation helps us more efficiently acquire and distribute these supplies to the students most in need.

Humanitarian Aid

When disaster strikes a 3M community, product donations are a valuable asset to serve in relief and recovery. 3M partners with leading NGOs Direct Relief and MAP International to donate relevant goods – including respirators, safety glasses, first aid tapes and bandages. Our partners help identify opportunities where our products can provide the greatest value and serve the communities most in need.
