STEM Learning
Create five million STEM and skilled trades learning experiences for underrepresented individuals by the end of 2025

3M, with the dedication and involvement of our employees, aims to advance equity in STEM and skilled trades across the globe.

To do so, we invest in organizations and programs that improve academic outcomes and provide transformational opportunities for the next generation of scientists and engineers. We’ve also set an education-focused goal to create and support five million unique STEM and skilled trades learning experiences for underrepresented individuals (as defined by the National Science Foundation) by the end of 2025.

As this fast-growing field is also high paying, these jobs can help underrepresented individuals build sustainable economic wealth.

One way we’re bringing social justice directly into our business practices is within our commitment to supplier diversity. We aim to double our spend with diverse suppliers in the U.S. by 2030.

Community Investments
Invest $50 million to address racial opportunity gaps in workforce opportunities

Through philanthropy and cash and product donations, we aim to advance equitable outcomes in 3M communities across the globe. Most notably, in 2020, we announced our plan to invest an incremental $50 million to address racial opportunity gaps in workforce opportunities. This is in addition to the annual investments we already make in our communities.
